Riley’s Last Surgery – Hypospadias Repair

September 4th, 2009 admin No comments

Riley’s latest surgery to repair a hypospadias.  I probably should say that he is home after one night in the hospital and doing well.  We stopped giving him codeine because it was making him a little crazy.  Just Motrin at night for now but we might stop that soon too.  He is very strong and wants to get right back to everything; holding him back is not easy.

He will have a cathater for two weeks so his mobility needs to be restricted as much as possible.  Like I said, it is not easy.

Bent Tree

Bent Tree

I will admit this tree is far from bent.  Maybe just a little off.  This one was taken on a long walk in the same park behind our house.  I got the oldest two boys together and headed out during nap time.

The Pacific Coast

The Pacific Coast

Several years ago we took a trip to see my wife’s friends in Salem, Oregon. I took tons of photos there with a point and shoot camera that by today’s standards is a a throw away piece of junk (my son now plays with it).  For the time, it did the trick and captured many memories.  This photo was taken somewhere along the Pacific coast.  Some minor editing in PhotoShop and I really like what I ended up with in this photo.  I will see if I can find any others from that trip, but I remember this was the best of the bunch.

Excitement!

Excitement!

One day while walking with my son in the park behind our neighborhood he spotted the swing set.  From his perspective this must have been a new world to explore and enjoy.  I could feel the excitement growing from his hand holding my finger.  I remember looking down at him, his eyes fixed on the city of swings and slides.  “Can we go play on it Papa?”   I look at him, his little face looked up at me; “Please Papa?”.  I let go of his hand and said; “go”.

Lancaster Lighthouse

Lancaster Lighthouse

Near my house there is a park which stretched about five miles in any direction from one end to the next.  This is at the complete opposite end from my home.  Just about every armature or professional photographer in the area has photographed this lighthouse.  I thought I would point my lens at it and take a few myself.  It came out okay.  For anyone who knows the area; I was under the bridge when I took this angle, still on a rock.  The year after I took this photo we had a nasty snow storm in November.  Most of those trees were chopped in half or were completely lost.

Fall Colors

Fall Colors

I guess you cannot quite see the colors in this photo but if you look close enough you can see many shades of black and white.

I took this one way back in college.  This is a scan of a print I made from film.  Yes, I still have a few film cameras laying around.  I do not use them simply because of the convenience of the digital camera.

Anyway, I cannot remember where or why I took this photo but I still like it.  There is outstanding contrast and some subtle features that make it interesting to me.
